Story Description

Story Summary

This story is about an underworld demon prince named Sang-Hyun who fled to the mortal world to become a professional gamer. Of course, he will not be able to easily achieve that. In his pursuit of becoming a professional gamer, he will meet a variety of people who will be there for him in his journey. He will fall in love with his best friend Ji Hoon, and when he confesses to him, his friend will distance himself from Sang-Hyun. Since there is no one to care for him, his strict professor, Woo Jin, who seems to outsmart Sang-Hyun constantly, takes care of him. Seeing Sang-Hyun down about his best friend distancing himself, Professor Woo Jin makes a way to help Sang-Hyun and Ji Hoon reconcile.

Characters

  • Yoon Sang-Hyun

  • Shin Woo Jin

  • Ji Hoon

  • President Kang Min Seo

  • Kang Seo Jun/Thunder

  • Eun Ha/Rogue

The characters have their own set of personalities that can be easily distinguished from one another. There is variation, and everyone has their own role, not just in Yoon Sang-Hyun’s life but also in how the story runs.

Most Favorite Character

When I first read Who’s Under Your World, my favorite was Ji Hoon, Sang Hyun’s best friend, because I found how their friendship started and how he reacts to the fact that Sang-Hyun is a demon prince really cute, but I was kind of disappointed when he left him. He was replaced by the hot professor, Shin Woo Jin. You’ll find out why at the end of season one.

Least Favorite Character

I must say I do not have a least favorite character because, as I have mentioned earlier, the characters have their role that triggered some part of the story.

Highlights (Scenes I liked the most)

This isn’t what I liked most but the most entertaining one for me. You will find it in Chapter 12. It was when Yoon Sang-Hyun lost a game of bet with Eun Ha. Eun Ha gave the demon prince a guiche piercing when Woo Jin returned to the room because he had forgotten something. So Woo Jin saw their position and immediately grabbed Eun Ha. Sang-Hyun was cute and annoying in this chapter, and I found Woo Jin’s reaction and thoughts the most entertaining.

I would also like to add the end of Season 1, but I will not spoil any of it because I want everyone to feel the same pain I felt when reading it. This is not a tragic story, that chapter was just sad.

Observation (As a writer)

The story was well-written, and if you are someone who looks at writing style or technicalities when reading, this is a story for you. I found the use of the third-person point of view very effective. The narration provided enough information but not too much that it was overwhelming. I can also attest that this is an easy read. Aside from being cleanly written, the sentences were done well so that they weren’t hard to understand.

Emotional Impact (What I felt reading it)

Whenever I see the words “light novel,” Who’s Under Your World is the first story that comes into my head. I was able to quickly finish the story because how it was written felt smooth and natural. If you are looking for a read after a stressful or tiring day, this is what it is. It was kind of hard for me to put it down because it was engaging and entertaining. The pacing of the story allows you to digest what’s happening, so you will never get lost while reading it.

It gave me a lot of feelings. Some scenes are funny, and some are intense, especially the part where they are playing games, the writer was able to make me visualize the game they are playing.

I will never forget how my heart ached in the last chapter of the first season. I hope you guys will read it, too, so I will have someone to cry with.

There are still questions that have yet to be answered in the first season, so I am looking forward to the next one.

All in all, I had fun reading it! It was very wholesome and adorable.

Recommended Read?

Yes, 100% recommended! It was a very good and unforgettable read. You will surely love the characters and the story itself. So, if you are both a reader and a gamer, this story is for you!
